Looking for a great wine bar in Vasastan? Here are three neighbourhood spots that locals keep coming back to, whether you are after natural wine, a classic glass of Burgundy or something in between.
Vasastan has quietly become one of Stockholm’s most interesting neighbourhoods for wine. The area around Odenplan and Rörstrandsgatan is home to a handful of wine bars that punch well above their weight, run by people who genuinely care about what ends up in your glass. It is one of the reasons so many people who rent an apartment in Vasastan end up staying far longer than they planned.
Here are the three we always mention first.
Savant Bar
Savant Bar on Tegnérgatan is the kind of place that is hard to walk past without wanting to go in. During the day it functions as a bright, minimal coffee bar with beans from Love Coffee Roasters in Lund. By late afternoon it transforms into one of Vasastan’s most talked-about wine bars, poured almost entirely from natural and sustainable producers.
The space is small and the atmosphere is close, with wine crates stacked along the walls and a chalkboard listing the day’s glass pours. It draws a crowd of regulars who know their stuff, but the staff are warm enough that first-timers never feel out of place. There are also small plates to go alongside your glass, Mediterranean-inspired and well put together.
Our recommendation is to arrive around five on a weekday, settle in at the bar and ask what they are excited about right now. That conversation alone tends to be worth the visit.
Savant Bar is one of those places that expats and international residents in Vasastan discover early and return to often.

Nektar Mat & Vin
Nektar sits on Rörstrandsgatan, one of Vasastan’s most restaurant-dense streets, and holds its own with ease. The wine bar and bistro was opened by Embla Brorsson and Eric Seger, who previously worked together at Restaurang Volt and Daniel Berlin Krog. That background shows in how the kitchen runs, quietly confident and focused on quality.
The wine list leans natural but is more restrained than some. There is no unnecessary funk here. The team have chosen producers with care and the result is a list that works for both the curious newcomer and the experienced drinker.
The food follows the same logic, seasonal small dishes with Swedish ingredients that are made to be eaten alongside wine rather than in competition with it. In summer, Rörstrandsgatan becomes pedestrianised and Nektar puts out its terrace. It is one of the better outdoor spots in the whole neighbourhood during warmer months.
Our suggestion is to start with a glass of orange wine on the terrace in summer and let the staff guide you from there. They tend to get it right.

Vinverket
Vinverket is the neighbourhood wine bar that Vasastan residents seem to adopt as their own. It sits on Norrtullsgatan in northern Vasastan and has a genuinely homely feel, the kind of place where you go for one glass and stay for three.
You step down a few stairs into the space and are immediately met by a wine cooler running floor to ceiling along one wall. The kitchen table doubles as a bar and workspace, and the small tables further inside are the kind that invite long conversations. At least fifty wines are available by the glass at any given time, spanning classic European regions at prices that work for a Tuesday evening as much as a celebration.
The food is Mediterranean-influenced, with charcuterie, cheese and small plates that were clearly chosen with wine in mind. It is more wine bar than restaurant, and that is precisely the point.
Vinverket is a strong argument for anyone thinking about moving to Vasastan. This is the kind of local you want within walking distance.
