Green areas and parks in Djursholm

Djursholm, a quiet suburb of Stockholm in Sweden, is famous not only for its beautiful architecture, but also for its beautiful parks and green areas. Each park here has its own unique charm. From parks that celebrate democracy to playful beach promenades, Djursholm’s parks offer both history for those who live there and a pleasant excursion for visitors.

Anna Whitlocks Park

Anna Whitlock’s park was established as a memorial to democracy in connection with the celebration of Sweden’s 100 years of universal and equal suffrage, in 2021.

Djursholms castle park

Djursholm’s castle park is a mixture of an English landscape park, meadows and nature. The park has existed since the 16th century when the castle was built. To the east of the castle there are tennis courts with changing rooms and showers, a playground and place for midsummer celebrations. Nearby there are also old meadows that are still cut by hand.

Germania park

Barracuda is the name of the sandy beach located in Germaniapark, in Germaniaviken in Djursholm. Germaniaparken is a beautiful park with green areas that attracts sun lovers during the summer. The park has a swimming beach that is perfect for smaller children, and now the rock pool has a new handrail for extra stability. In addition, there is a trampoline in the water that you can jump from. It is a lovely place for relaxation and water play.

Germania promenade

Along the quay and the promenade you will find sun loungers and the portals are decorated with climbing roses and clematis during the summer. Behind the benches is a hedge of privets which will be pruned to look neat and well kept. It gives the place a neat and well-kept look. Along the promenade you have a view of Germaniaparken and Old Djursholm.

Samsöpark

The park is part of the promenade and is located by Samsöviken. It has a new quay promenade and also borders the popular promenade along the embankment, which runs from the center of Djursholm to Stocksund in the south and Svalnäs in the north.

Ösbysjön’s swimming area

The city park with Ösbysjön in Djursholm is a favorite place for people who love to swim and relax by the water. The lake has two swimming areas, one with a jettyga on the north side and one with a sandy beach and jetty on the south side. On the south side there is a larger jetty (shown in the picture) which is more popular for families with children. There are also parking facilities here. On the north side there is a smaller jetty, usually filled with a lovely mix of old and young people.

Ösby Park in Djursholm

In addition, it is Danderyd’s most accessible playground. Here there are surfaces of rubber asphalt, buddy swing, pavilion, speaking tube and hammock. There are also barbecue areas and a large climbing net that engages both young and old children. A large park where there are opportunities to carry out larger activities as well, such as rounders.
